Free Medical and Fitness Program Requirements Chart for Fire Departments
Indianapolis, Indiana-October 1, 2002-Is your fire
department doing all that it can to ensure the health and safety of its
personnel? Public Safety Medical Services, an Indianapolis-based occupational
health firm, has developed charts to help interpret the medical and health
and fitness standards developed by The National Fire Protection Association
(NFPA) and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF).
NFPA codes are developed by more than 6,000 volunteers
from diverse professional backgrounds who serve on 230 technical code-
and standard-development committees. All 75,000 NFPA members have the
opportunity to vote on proposed and revised codes and standards.
Public Safety Medical Services is a unique, multi-disciplinary
organization serving public safety agencies who seek health, fitness,
and medical evaluation services. They inspire healthier and more productive
lives through innovative programs delivered with pride, integrity and
dedication.
